Srijana Tamang was born on June 21, 1993. Her birthplace is in Jugal, Sindhupalchowk, Nepal. She is Vice President of Jugal gaupalika (उपाध्यक्ष, जुगल गाउँपालिका), Sindhupalchowk. She is the eldest daughter in her family. She studied at Shree Kali Devi Secondary School from grade to 6 to grade 10 after that she joined shree krishna ratna ganga higher secondary school, completed her higher secondary level(+2). Srijana studied bachelors first year in Chautara Multiple Campus(2011) and currently she is doing master level. She works at Jugal rural municipality, Community Development and Environment Conservation Forum.
Her school was two hours far from her home. She walked two hours by foot to reach school and then 2 hours to get back home. She used to walk daily four hours for her education. She studied to do something for her community but few people in her community was again girls getting higher education. She was first girl to complete SLC(grade 10) from her place. She completed SLC(grade 10) in first division. Jugal is the most underdeveloped rural municipality of Sindhupalchowk. It is also know as Karnali of Sindupalchowk due to lack of infrastructure development.
During election she walked all parts of Jugal rural municipality which helped her to know more details about the area. There were no roads for transportation in that area, communication was also not way as it’s hard to find mobile signal. Jugal is mixed of different communities like Sherpa, Lama, Tamang and others. She won election as Vice President of Jugal gaupalika. After that she worked to developed infrastructures such as telecommunication, schools, road. Besides, she and her team is also successful for development of tourism, health, agriculture in her area. She is also focused on quality of education.
